Alcohol use during pregnancy is a leading preventable cause of birth defects that include a range of conditions referred to as fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).
Under the direction of Georgiana Wilton, PhD, the UW Department of Family Medicine's FASD research team is a leading advocate for the prevention, identification, and treatment of the disorder.
