Clinical Instructor - Physician Assistant Program
The University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine, located in Madison, Wisconsin, seeks a Clinical Instructor for our Physician Assistant Program.
Job Responsibilities:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks dynamic applicants for a 50-100% (12 month appointment) academic faculty position for its Physician Assistant Program. Candidates must have a Master's degree or a doctorate. The successful candidate will be a certified physician assistant with current licensure or eligibility for licensure within Wisconsin. The candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong leadership skills, collaborative style to complement a team environment, and a minimum of two years clinical practice. Teaching experience is preferred.
As a member of the Program faculty, this individual's role will include:
- coordinating/teaching and evaluating effectiveness of assigned courses in the didactic curriculum, possibly to include a combination of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Prevention and Population Health or Clinical Pharmacology courses. Also included will be team participation in History and Physical Examination and Advanced Patient Assessment courses. Instructional duties will be based upon candidate skills, interests and the needs of the Program.
- participating in the coordination, instruction, and evaluation of student's clinical skills, as well as academic advising/mentoring.
- actively participating in program administration to include admissions, faculty meetings, professional development, grant activities, and other duties as assigned.
- serving within the role of Associate to the Director of Clinical Education, participating on the Clinical Year Team.
- initiating and maintaining scholarly productivity.
- pursuing active clinical practice (minimum 20% expected).
- actively participating in state/national PA associations and professional activities (strongly encouraged).
