Curriculum: Leadership and Others
Goal: Learn to work effectively as a health team member and leader
Objectives:
- Demonstrate team skills such as:
- Active listening
- Networking
- Collaborating and sharing responsibility
- Delegating
- Giving acknowledgement
- Providing constructive criticism
- Assess group dynamics
- Assess one's own responsibilities and performance in a group situation
- Lead effective meetings:
- Plan agendas
- Conduct meetings
- Determine follow-up actions
- Distribute summaries and/or assignments
- Participate in conflict resolution and mediation skills training:
- Recognize and reflect on one's own responses to conflict
- Develop basic skills and approaches to conflict resolution in health care settings

- Training in giving and receiving feedback
- Lecture/demonstration/activity in group dynamics
- Self-reflection as a part of LOCUS activities
- Completion of LOCUS community health team project
