Fellow Bio:
I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. I went to college at Brown University. After graduating, I moved to Eritrea and volunteered with an organization called Population Services, International. I worked on a research project examining the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of commercial sex workers in Eritrea's capital city, regarding HIV/AIDS and condom use. I also helped to implement an AIDS-awareness campaign, bringing HIV/AIDS-themed work of six artists and a popular music group to cities and towns nationwide. When I returned to the US, I worked for the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts where I coordinated outreach and education efforts to the community. For the past three years, I've worked as a Health Unit Coordinator at the UW Hospital. I have also volunteered for the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, participating in outreach to provide information about the ARCW's clean needle exchange program and other health-related resources for drug users.
