I grew up on a dairy farm in southern Wisconsin, and received my undergrad degree from UW Madison. I moved to Boston this past summer, to get away from Madison for a little while before coming back for another four years. Throughout college, I've been part of the Wisconsin Union Directorate Alternative Breaks Committee. Through that organization, I've lived and worked in a homeless shelter in Washington DC, built houses in Tucson, worked on a safe sex campaign in Seattle, and helped to plan volunteer trips for other students all over the US. I've also volunteered with Planned Parenthood of WI by staffing information tables at community events. I like to play tennis and am an amateur jogger (no more than 5K runs!). I also play the cello, and hope to find an orchestra to play in during med school that won't take too much of my time.
