DFM Faculty help win Major Grant at UW-Madison
Summary:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded UW-Madison’s new Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) one of the largest grants ($41 million over five years) in the history of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.
Department of Family Medicine faculty were closely involved in the process of putting the CTSA proposal together. Mike Fleming, MD, MPH and Craig Gjerde, PhD wrote a section of the proposal for training investigators. Paul Smith, MD, director of WREN and John Frey, MD were also asked to work with Maureen Smith, MD, MPH, PhD, who has a joint appointment in Population Health and Family Medicine, to help craft the Type II Translational research section.
