Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy Comes to Madison

Recreational athletes with injured tendons and ligaments can now get a treatment in Madison that the pros have been using: platelet-rich plasma therapy.
The procedure, known as PRP, involves injecting a patient's specially prepared blood into an injured area. That triggers tissue repair, said Dr. John Wilson, a sports medicine specialist at UW Health, which started offering the treatment this month.
