Rolling Review Committee Tackles Ongoing Rotation Improvement
Contributors: Teresa Kulie, MDDo you know of a rotation that could be improved? Our Rolling Review Committee proactively reviews and improves resident rotations in the Madison Residency program. This periodic review ensures accuracy of logistical information, updated readings, and provides a systematic method for rotation improvement.
Each month the committee tackles a different rotation. Residents, faculty, and staff all contribute, and due to availability and interest, often each meeting has a different group of participants.
At the first meeting of the month, participants discuss data about the rotation, including:
- Current goals and objectives
- Logistics
- Resident feedback/concerns
- National requirements
These meetings are often quite lively as various concerns or ideas are voiced. By the end of the meeting, the various attendees agree to work on issues that were raised.
At the second (and final) meeting of the month, we discuss proposed solutions. Any big changes proposed are subject to approval by the Madison Program Education Committee.
So far, the Rolling Review Committee has reviewed:
- St. Mary's Family Medicine Service
- MICU
- Ophthalmology
- OB
- Rural Rotations.
Members Michelle Grosch, MPA, Judy Nepokroeff, MA, Jennie Hounshell, MD, Angela Oostema, MD, Virginia McKenna, MD, and Teresa Kulie, MD have been very active on the committee.
The committee usually meets on the second and fourth Friday of the month from 7:30-8:30 AM in Alumni Hall in Madison. If you are interested in participating, please email teresa.kulie@fammed.wisc.edu.
