Lyric Dold, MA, MS, LPC was interviewed by Savannah Jahrling for the July issue of Wisconsin Woman Magazine. Her information on fetal alcohol spectrum disorders was written as a sidebar by Savannah Jahrling for an article by Jodi Bakken titled "Portrait of a Woman Alcoholic."


The Wisconsin Partnership Program recently filled three positions on the Medical Education and Research Committee (MERC). Two of the elected positions are SOMPH (School of Medicine and Public Health) faculty positions and one is an academic staff position. The new members are:

  • Molly Carnes, MD, professor of medicine (faculty at-large position)
  • Patrick Remington, MD, MPH, professor of population health sciences (faculty with population health experience position)
  • Mary Beth Plane, PhD, senior scientist, Department of Family Medicine (academic staff position)

The MERC is responsible for the allocation and distribution of the funds earmarked for medical education and research initiatives that support the purpose and objectives of the Wisconsin Partnership Program. The committee is chaired by Paul DeLuca, PhD, vice dean of the SOMPH.

Bill Schwab, MD participated on an expert panel on "Patient and Family-Centered Care" for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Institute for Family-Centered Care (IFCC) were co-conveners of the meeting. Dr. Schwab is a member of the Board of Directors of the IFCC.
