Cross Plains Clinic Celebrates Expansion

Alaina Wendlandt

UW Health Cross Plains Family Medicine clinic opened its doors to patients and community members to celebrate the completion of its year-long expansion and renovation project. "The growth of Family Medicine demanded that we improve the facility to meet the needs of our patients as well as our staff. We are thrilled to share our new space with the community," commented Daniel Jarzemsky, MD.

The facility, now double in size, includes:

  • All-new exam rooms, three rooms for each physician
  • Improved and expanded care team area for nurses and physicians
  • Improved x-ray technology and lab
  • A comfort room for physicians and families to privately discuss care decisions and for nursing mothers
  • More spacious and newly decorated waiting and reception areas with a hospitality bar
  • Additional handicap accessibility built into the bathrooms and radiology room

Cross Plains sees an increasing number of young families each year, adding to the demand for improved accommodations. The renovation also includes one additional exam room, with the intent to recruit another physician within the next two years. LuAnn White, Cross Plains clinic manager, stated "Our patients like the convenience of having a clinic in their own town. Our goal for this project was to match this convenience and excellent care with a modernized facility."

The building project was initiated in November of last year, almost thirty years after the original facility opened in 1977. The final move-in to the new facility was Friday, June 29. UW Health Cross Plains Family Medicine clinic provides comprehensive health care for:
