Fitness Project has Tremendous Start
The Department Fitness Matters Project got off to a tremendous start in May. All locations statewide are participating in this project for the honor of receiving the highly coveted Travelin' Tennie trophy. Appleton won this prestigious award last year and the other locations are trying hard to make sure it doesn't end up there again.
Most locations began their Fitness Matters project on Wednesday, May 17, the National Employee Health and Fitness Day, with an orientation meeting and a short walk. Other activities are planned throughout the 17-week project including:
- Poker walk
- Salad bar potluck
- Guest speakers on nutrition and exercise
- Jump rope contest
- Beach bum relay
In addition, several clinics are enticing participants with the chance to win awards such as pedometers and jump ropes. Each location has their calendar posted on the Department of Family Medicine website at https://inside.fammed.wisc.edu/hr/fitness.html. View the site to see the activities that are planned throughout the state.
