Educating Physician Assistants for 35 Years

The UW-Madison PA Program was founded by mandate of the Wisconsin State legislature in 1974 under a bill sponsored by former State Senator and Governor Tommy Thompson. Classes began in 1975, and the first class graduated in 1977. Since then, the Program has graduated more than 900 physician assistants, comprising the vast majority of the practicing PAs in the State of Wisconsin.

With your participation and involvement we hope to continue graduating exceptional PA's to help Wisconsin meet its increasing health care needs.

Status of the UW-Madison PA Master's Completion Program for our Alumni

March 2011
Dear UW-Madison PA Program Alumni,

We continue to explore the Master's completion option and have recently tried to gain new momentum for moving this forward. Unfortunately, our initial attempt met some logistical challenges, although everyone remains very excited and supportive of the concept and commitment to try to provide this for our graduates.

Right now I do not have more to report, but hopefully will by this summer (summer of 2011). I will try to keep you informed as I know more.

Thanks for your interest. I hope we can make the adjustments that will help it move through the system. Yet, we'll keep trying and like I said, hopefully soon we can announce something further !

Take good care. Thanks for staying in touch!
Ginny
