You will need to look at 8+ credits in the tuition and fees table to estimate tuition. PLEASE NOTE: you will be charged "Master of Physician Assistant (MPAS)" school rates and not Medical school rates. .

PLEASE NOTE: According to the Tuition Policy Principles of the UW System Board of Regents, “Where general budget increases are not sufficient to maintain educational quality, supplemental tuition increases should assist in redressing the imbalance between needs and resources” (Section 32-5.4). In addition the Tuition Policy Principles state, "Tuition increases should be moderate and predictable, subject to the need to maintain quality" (Section 32-5.5). Thus, tuition is subject to change at any time as determined by the UW Board of Regents.

Estimate of additional expenses, excluding housing & transportation:

  • Professional organization membership, e.g. WAPA, SAAAPA (~$10-85)
  • Lab coat (~$35-40 required)
  • BLS and ACLS training (~$200-250 required)
  • Books, binders, electronic resources (~$2000 or less if electronic resources are maximized).
  • Printing (≤$250)
  • Medical equipment (~$1000-$1200; not required)
  • Laptop computer (≥$500; required)
    • Your laptop must have a screen size of AT LEAST 13 inches.
      "Netbooks" are NOT suitable, as they are often designed with screen sizes between 8'' and 10''.
    • A laptop purchased in the last 2-3 years will likely meet the minimum specifications. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the minimum specifications are met. Please refer to System Requirements for New UW-Madison Students.
