Project Study Title: Pilot Study of Alternative Treatments of Unexplained Chronic Fatigue
Summary of Study: The purpose of this study is to determine if some complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practitioners have developed management approaches that are more helpful than usual care for some patients with unexplained chronic fatigue.
Objective: The objective of this study is to identify certain types of clinicians (or individual physicians) who appear to have identified effective treatments for patients with ICF, or to find that clinicians who report themselves to be effective are not.
Study Design: The research will use written questionnaires to survey patients with UCF and their physicians about symptoms, treatment, and related factors. Patients will complete 3 surveys: baseline, 3-month, and 6-month. Physicians will be asked to complete questionnaires on their participating patients upon study enrollment and six months later.
