Project Study Title: UW Postpartum Depression Treatment Program PPD Screening Research

Summary of Study: To assist health care professionals in the early detection of symptoms of major depression among women in the last trimester of pregnancy and the first seven months postpartum.

Objective: To screen for postpartum depression and assist health care professional with timely referral of women with significant depressive symptoms to appropriate treatment.

Study Implications: Serve as an information and referral center for affected women and to provide a clinic contact person. To provide no-cost evaluation and treatment in our NIH-funded study for women with infants less than seven months of age who meet entrance criteria. Referral and follow-up is offered for those who do not meet entrance criteria.
