Maureen Van Dinter graduated from St. Marys School of Nursing in Milwaukee in 1966. She worked briefly for the Milwaukee Health Department and has had extensive experience in pediatric, burn, and adult intensive care units, as well as both community and university hospital emergency rooms. She received a BSN degree from Marquette University in 1978 and an MS degree in maternal-child health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1981. Her past work experience also includes eight years of rural hospital work. Maureen works as a pediatric and family nurse practitioner at Northeast Family Medical Center and also serves as the Center's associate director. She has been very active in local emergency care activities and education and volunteers time with an emergency medical service and ski patrol , including participation on the 2002 Olympic Medical Team in Salt Lake City.Time was spent in Kazachstan developing that country's EMS systems. She is the past legislative chair for the state professional organization and has been active in state and localhealth care activities, as well as serving on the Dane County Head Start Health Advisory Committee. Maureen participates in the seminar presentations for residents in all three years and provides colposcopy precepting as part of the GYN elective. She is a local consultant for the Diver's Alert Network, and provides dive related medical care in the clinic.
