Dr. Crouse joined the Department of Family Medicine in March 2001. He is a graduate of Mayo Medical School and the Duluth Family Practice Residency. Following 6+ years of private practice in Spooner, Wisconsin he became an Assistant Director of the Duluth Family Practice Residency. From there he became the Head of the Department of Family Medicine at the UMD School of Medicine where he also served as Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and Director of the Minnesota Rural Health School. His areas of focus are rural health care, sports medicine and preventive health care services.
At the University of Wisconsin, Madison Medical School he serves as the Associate Dean of Community and Rural Health and in the DFM serves as the Associate Chair for Statewide Programs.
He is active in developing rural based educational experiences for medical students and residents that promote interest in rural practice and prepare individuals to provide quality care in rural communities.
