UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine Clinic

The UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine Clinic is located in a highly visible and accessible area of the city, across the street from Sacred Heart Hospital and minutes from Luther Hospital. The clinic has a well-established patient population, with approximately 12,500 visits each year.

State-of-the-art facilities include:

• Eighteen exam rooms and two procedure rooms
• Electronic medical records
• Terminals in each exam room with internet access
• Three x-ray suites (for digital and standard x-rays) and five ultrasound suites
• Laboratory with expanded draw areas for patient comfort
• Mental health and geriatric counseling rooms
• Co-located dental offices, staffed by Marquette University School of Dentistry
• High-tech conference rooms and lecture halls
• Private parking for residents and staff
• Access to a human patient simulator, one of approximately 100 worldwide.

Residents work in teams to provide coverage and continuity for their patients. Counseling and EBM (Evidence Based Medicine) are integral parts of patient care and resident education.

UW Health Augusta Family Medicine

UW Health Augusta Family Medicine is a rural clinical site managed by the Eau Claire residency program, with support from Sacred Heart Hospital. Staffed by two family physician faculty, it serves the rural community surrounding Augusta, WI, a community population of 1,500 people about18 miles from Eau Claire.

The clinic features:

• Five exam rooms
• Facilities for EKG, colposcopy and minor procedures and osteopathic manipulation
• Laboratory services available from the Eau Claire residency
• High tech video conferencing system
• An electronic medical record fully linked with the Eau Claire clinic

The clinic hosts health education nights, assists local schools with education programs on teen issues, serves seniors at the senior center, and cares for patients at the Augusta and Fall Creek nursing homes.

Luther Midelfort -Mayo Health System is a physician directed, fully integrated multi-specialty clinic and hospital owned by the Mayo Clinic. The medical staff provides a full range of family care and more than 40 specialty and subspecialty healthcare services for patients. Residents participate in pediatrics, cardiology, and general internal medicine rotations.
