Wausau Schedule
First-Year Rotations
A four-week orientation allows new residents to familiarize themselves with one another, faculty and staff, their professional settings and systems, and community resources. At this time, residents begin seeing patients and start emergency department and call schedules.
During the first year, residents see their own patients two half-days per week in the outpatient family medicine center.

Second-Year Rotations
The second year offers more intensive inpatient experiences at Marshfield's regional neonatal ICU and Wausau's ICU/CCU. During rotations in neighboring rural communities, residents are responsible for a high patient volume in a setting away from broad multispecialty resources. Residents return to Wausau weekly to assure continuity of care for their patients. The program provides convenient housing for residents and their families while away from Wausau.
