Bio
Alexis Madson, MPA (she/her/hers) is a research specialist for Dr. KJ Hansmann’s Driving Decisions Lab in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
Prior to joining the department, Madson completed her master of public affairs degree with an emphasis on implementation science and community health outcomes. During her academic career, Madson’s research focused on establishing policy interventions that increased access to quality healthcare and led a project evaluating a long-term care nursing clinical. Through her studies and work with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, Madson found a passion for supporting older adults in navigating complex life transitions.
Outside of her professional life, Madson is an Agrace home care volunteer. When not working or volunteering, she loves playing the drums and rock climbing.
Research Interests
Madson’s research interests include designing and implementing interventions that promote aging literacy, increase access to quality healthcare, and support older adults and their caregivers through complex life transitions.
