
Miena Hall, MD
Work by Miena Hall, MD, is featured in PLOS One. The paper, “Building Breastfeeding Knowledgeable Health Systems: Focus Groups with Physician Leaders,” explores barriers and facilitators to breastfeeding support in health systems. Recommended strategies for system-wide improvements include creating breastfeeding medicine divisions, coordinating lactation services, improving staff training and support for lactating employees, and increasing public awareness. Additional authors include Anne Eglash, MD, and colleagues from Northern Illinois University, Texas A&M University, University of Maryland, and Boston University.
Hall is a primary care research fellow at the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. She previously worked as a primary care and breastfeeding medicine physician in the suburbs of Chicago. She completed her fellowship in breastfeeding and lactation medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center and is a graduate of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine Leadership Academy.
