Congratulations to Elizabeth Salisbury-Afshar, MD, MPH (Associate Professor, CHS) and Matthew Swedlund, MD, MBA (Assistant Professor, CHS) on being selected for the 2024 cohort of the UW Health Physician Leadership Development Program (PLDP). They will begin the nine-month program in January 2024 and develop their skills in leading within a culture of trust, building and leading effective teams, managing provider performance, and leading and managing strategic change, among other topics.
The goal of PLDP is to develop the leaders needed to implement institutional strategies and meet future challenges in academic medicine. UW Health has partnered with the American Association of Physician Leadership for this educational opportunity. In addition to training courses, participants will learn how UW Health works as a system and receive feedback on their individual leadership styles.
