Mark Wirtz, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
Dr. Wirtz provides comprehensive care for adults and children of all ages. He treats a wide range of acute (sudden) and chronic (long-term) conditions — everything from ear infections, injuries and flu to high blood pressure, asthma and diabetes. Dr. Wirtz also offers well-child visits, routine physicals and preventive care.
Treating his patients with dignity and compassion, Dr. Wirtz listens closely to their concerns. He carefully explains their treatment options so they can make educated decisions about their health care. He considers it an honor to partner with his patients to overcome their medical challenges and help them live healthy, productive lives.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Wirtz enjoys spending time with his family, gardening and volunteering in the community.
“I treat the whole person. I listen to my patients’ concerns and make sure they feel well-cared for both physically and emotionally.”
