Nick grew up in Naperville, IL in the southwest suburbs of Chicago after having lived in Sun Prairie as a toddler. He completed his undergraduate degree in exercise science and Spanish at Creighton University. Following his undergraduate education, he worked as a patient advocate and interpreter in a federally qualified health center where he learned that quality healthcare is more than just physical health and was driven to pursue a career as a physician. Nick attended medical school at Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned a Master of Arts in bioethics as well as his medical degree. Nick spent a fellowship year teaching junior medical students physical exam skills, clinical medicine, and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) while developing skills in teaching methods and studying adult learning theory. Nick participated in medical trips to the Dominican Republic and Guatemala, where his Spanish improved and he developed a passion for caring for Hispanic and Latino communities, and he continues as a bilingual provider today. He completed his residency here in Madison and continues to enjoy the breadth, continuity, and comprehensive nature of family medicine. His specific interests include OB, newborn, and pediatric care, nutrition and wellness, academic medicine, addiction medicine, and bioethics. Nick enjoys running, biking, golf, basketball, tennis, board and card games, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Creighton Bluejays. He also enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and sampling coffees.
