Bio
Marcelle “Marcie” Bulla, MD (she/her/hers) joined DFMCH in 2025 as a resident. Originally from Leicester, North Carolina, and Nashville, Tennessee, Bulla is passionate about providing comprehensive care to underserved populations and the LGBTQ+ community. Her deep interest in reproductive health and whole-person care grew from personal experiences navigating the healthcare system with family members and from years of community engagement, including leading global health brigades and volunteering at free clinics in Memphis.
During medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Bulla held leadership roles in multiple service organizations, contributed to health disparities education through symposium planning, and conducted public health work on maternal-infant outcomes. Her experiences have solidified her interest in pursuing family medicine with a focus on obstetrics, and she is considering an FM-OB fellowship after residency.
Outside of medicine, Bulla enjoys crafting—including crochet, sewing, and quilting—alongside cooking, birdwatching, and running. She is known for hosting elaborate murder mystery parties and loves reading fantasy novels while listening to indie and alt-pop rock.
