Tyler Grunow, MD, is a family medicine doctor at UW Health and a clinical assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Dr. Grunow treats a variety of common ailments, including illnesses and injuries, skin conditions, infections, chronic diseases and other disorders.

Dr. Grunow evaluates and treats acute (suddenly occurring) conditions, helps patients to manage chronic conditions such as asthma, allergies and diabetes and works with patients to prevent and treat sports-related injuries in athletes of all ages.

He takes a proactive, preventive approach to care. Dr. Grunow considers the home and communities to be the primary contributors to good health. He collaborates with patients to create treatment plans. He recommends positive steps to promote wellness and prevent disease. His goal is to help patients to get and stay healthy to avoid the need for clinical or hospital care.

Dr. Grunow was first drawn to family medicine by the idea of seeing people at any stage of life with any condition and getting to know his patients over time. He appreciates the relationship aspect of primary care and opportunities to encourage preventive care.

In his free time, Dr. Grunow likes to spend time with his children, family and dog. His family also enjoys helping him take care of his classic 1965 Plymouth Barracuda.
