Sarina Schrager, MD, MS (Professor, CHS) will be awarded the Advancing Faculty in Medicine and Science Award by the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) at their annual symposium on December 4, 2025. The award recognizes scholarship or advocacy work specifically advancing faculty in medicine and science.

Sarina Schrager, MD, MSSchrager was selected for her efforts as the vice chair for faculty development and promotions in building promotion pathways and mentoring underrepresented faculty, providing sustained mentorship with over 40 learners, expanding scholarly publishing , advancing research and education as WREN medical director, and exemplifying clinical and teaching excellence as a full-spectrum family physician.

The UW chapter of the national American Association of Medical Colleges GWIMS organization was established in 2021. The group’s mission is to advance “the full and successful participation and inclusion of women within academic medicine and science…through education, advocacy, mentoring, and networking.”
