Stuart G. Hannah, MD joined the Baraboo residency program in 2010. Himself a 2003 graduate of the Baraboo rural training track, Dr. Hannah experienced first- hand how a rural program works and the benefits of training in a rural environment. He received his BS Summa cum Laude from the College of William and Mary, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, was presented an Ann Callahan Chappell Award, and received the Lewis-Gale Clinic/Mary Ella Zelenik MD scholarship.
He attended medical school at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and was a Canby Robinson Scholar. Dr. Hannah was the program originator, designer, and director of the Tennessee Governor’s School for Health Sciences in 1999. In 2000 he was given the Geoffrey David Chazen Award for the student, resident, or faculty member who originates and implements a significant change in education strategy or approach in the University Medical Center. During his Faculty Development Fellowship, Dr. Hannah participated in the MEDAL program (Medical Education Development and Leadership), including a year each of Program Development and Teaching Skills for medical education.
