Kerry Zimdars, MD, MPH (Clinical Assistant Professor) has been named the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) Faculty Advisor for Social Impact and Belonging. Zimdars will collaborate with the School of Medicine and Public Health social impact and belonging program manager and the DFMCH vice chair for community health on priorities, goals, and initiatives. She will also serve as a liaison to faculty and ensure alignment of strategic priorities across the department as they relate to social impact and belonging.
Zimdars has worked with patients from all walks of life and incorporates public health into everyday medical care. She enjoys sharing her education and career experiences to illustrate the art of medicine in a way that goes beyond textbooks and lecture halls. Zimdars is the recipient of the 2020 Compassion in Action Community Health Leadership Award.
