Elizabeth Salisbury-Afshar, MD, MPH (Professor, CHS) spoke at the American Society of Addiction Medicine Addiction Medicine Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC on September 15, 2025. Salisbury-Afshar joined colleagues from Washington, Virginia, and Kentucky for the panel “Driving Change at Home: State Advocacy Roundtable.” Panelists shared their experiences with state-chapter advocacy and discussed their strategies for future success.
The Addiction Medicine Advocacy Conference is a two-day in-person event that gathers members to receive training from experts, shape policy priorities, and participate in meetings with policymakers on Capitol Hill.
