
Earlise Ward, PhD, MS
Earlise Ward, PhD, MS was named one of Wisconsin’s most influential black leaders in 2025 by Madison365. The list “shine(s) a light on the people who are shaping Wisconsin’s future.” Ward, a professor at the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, was recognized for her roles as faculty director for the Cancer Health Disparities Initiative and co-director of the T32 Primary Care Research Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Ward conducts community-engaged clinical intervention research focused on African American adults’ mental health and culturally competent mental health services. Her program of research focuses on developing and testing culturally tailored mental health behavioral interventions for African American adults with clinical depression.
