KJ Hansmann, MD, MPH, PhD (she/her/hers, they/them/theirs) became a DFMCH faculty member in 2024 as a family medicine doctor and health services researcher. Her research focuses on leveraging our understanding of social determinants of health to design and implement clinical care interventions that promote health equity across the life course. Through postdoctoral research training after completing her clinical residency in family medicine at University of Wisconsin, she developed skills in multivariate statistical modeling and health equity research and content expertise in driving cessation.

Alyssa Turnquist (she/her/hers) is the Wisconsin Research Education Network (WREN) research program manager. Turnquist joined DFMCH in 2018 and dedicated her first six years in the department to the role of research coordinator.
Prior to joining WREN, Turnquist gained extensive experience in laboratory, clinical, and translational research in the University of Wisconsin Departments of Radiology and Surgery. Her work primarily focused on minimally invasive cancer treatments. She also completed an internship as a clinical exercise physiologist in cardiac rehabilitation at UnityPoint Health-Meriter, where she specialized in patient education, disease management, and exercise prescription.

Meghan Vieth (she/her/hers) is an outreach specialist for the Driving Decisions Lab and the Wisconsin Research Education Network (WREN). Vieth graduated from UW-Madison in 2020, majoring in human development & family studies and communication arts with a certificate in digital studies. Prior to joining the department in 2023, Vieth worked at Madison Dane County Public Health where she contributed to both the COVID-19 response and the syringe services/overdose prevention teams.
Vieth’s professional interests include mental health, public health equity, dementia care, and harm reduction. She has extensive experience working with recovery community organizations. In her free time, Vieth enjoys live music, traveling with friends and family, camping, karaoke, and spending time at home with her husband and their two cats.
