The UW DFMCH Addiction Medicine Fellowship provides clinical experience and instruction in the management of substance use disorders. Created in 2010, it was one of the first programs in the country to provide training to physicians interested in becoming board-certified in the newly-recognized specialty of Addiction Medicine. The program is accredited by the American Council for Graduated Medical Education and was selected as a National Model Program by the American Board of Addiction Medicine.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Graduate Medical Education Residency Expansion Grants are intended to support current accredited GME programs in priority specialties in expanding their programs with the goal of improving the health of the people in Wisconsin by increasing the number of physicians practicing in rural areas of Wisconsin.
