Overview

Through generous donors, we have funds to help support students attend conferences to explore a career in Family Medicine.

There are also multiple, external funding sources available to students, which vary depending on the conference. These include:

  • Funding from conference sponsors
  • Other sources (UW SMPH, state and national organizations, etc)

These sources have their own timelines and requirements, so it’s important to be aware of deadlines and follow certain sequences in order to maximize your funding benefits.

Funding Opportunities

The UW DFMCH has a limited amount of funding, and may be able to provide up to $1500, to support conference attendance. This is a reimbursement process, so you will receive funds after the conference. The reimbursement amount depends on what funding is available in our department and what funding you receive from other sources.  If you do not have any outstanding payments to the university, the payment will be direct deposited to the account on file.

To apply for funds for any conference you will need to first explore funding sources unique to that conference, and if you have additional costs not covered by that, then request funding support by submitting the Medical Student Funding Request Form.
