Laurence (he/him) grew up in the United Kingdom before moving to the West Coast and completing his BA at Stanford University, after which he spent five years working at Google. Then deciding to make the transition to medicine, he completed his MPH at University of California, Berkeley and his medical training at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. He remained at OHSU for his Family Medicine residency and served as a chief resident, where he developed passions for inpatient medicine, addiction medicine and integrating mental health in primary care. After graduating from residency, he worked at a FQHC with Riverside University Health System in Palm Springs, CA, where he served a largely low-income, LGBT and Latino/a community. As a fellow, he looks forward to deepening his passion for LGBT health through research, teaching, and advocacy work. Outside of medicine, he enjoys travel, learning languages, running, and lifting weights.
