Congratulations to Abby Murphy, PA-C on receiving the UW Health Advanced Practice Provider Excellence Award in the Unsung Hero category. Murphy was recognized for leading her team through structural and cultural changes, providing creative solutions to longstanding issues, supporting urgent care needs, and serving as a teacher and preceptor. In her time with UW Health, Murphy has been the primary intake provider for new OB patients in her clinic, been a valuable resource for her clinic’s Spanish-speaking population, and been widely recognized as an expert in LGBTQ+ care. She was honored on September 26, 2023 at the APP Excellence Awards ceremony.
The UW Health Unsung Hero award honors someone whose contributions can go unrecognized in the organization or community but are recognized as essential by those who work with them. Their remarkable acts of compassion, perseverance, and selflessness often have significant impact and lead to substantive change. Honorees demonstrate a commitment and dedication to their clinical practice, patients, organization, or community, exhibit a clinical acumen that sets them apart as an indispensable part of the team, and act as a team player within their community. This award is given at the organization level.
