2006 Summer Research & Clinical Assistantship (SRCA)

Penny Anderson

Each summer, the Department of Family Medicine sponsors the SRCA program, which matches first or second year University of Wisconsin medical students with DFM faculty who are eager to have students work with them on people-oriented, clinically relevant, hands-on research projects. For eight weeks, in addition to working with the faculty in the clinical setting, these students attend workshops led by Jon Temte, MD, PhD, to learn research concepts and skills.

Another successful SRCA program ended on July 21, culminating with the medical students' project presentations. Jon Temte, MD, PhD is the program director and is assisted by the following instructors: Mary Beth Plane, PhD, Bruce Barrett, MD, PhD, and Van Yasek, PhD and Michael Grasmick, PhD from the WREN program. Penny Anderson is the program coordinator.
