Wisconsin Ressearch and Education Network (WREN) Leadership Team

Membership

WREN membership is available to:

  • Primary care clinicians who actively practice in Wisconsin; or
  • Academic researchers whose primary place of employment is located in Wisconsin

WREN membership includes individual providers from clinics across the state, and all providers who practice at WREN full-support clinics.

Both individual providers and full-support clinic members can participate at either the General or Affiliate level. General WREN members pay dues of $50 annually and have full voting rights. Affiliate members do not pay dues and do not have voting rights.

All WREN members receive regular WREN communications, including a quarterly newsletter and updates about new projects. Members are invited to participate in the annual research forum and are expected to complete periodic WREN surveys.

For more information about joining WREN, contact Michael Grasmick, PhD.

Full-Support Clinics

WREN full-support clinics designate a clinic champion and clinic practice facilitator to help implement WREN projects. These clinics participate in at least one WREN project each year, and send at least one representative to the annual WREN Research Forum. Finally, all clinicians at full-support clinics are WREN members at either the general or affiliate level, and agree to respond to WREN surveys and participate in WREN projects at the clinic.

In turn, WREN supports these clinics by paying for the time the clinic practice facilitator spends coordinating WREN projects, and by providing assistance from a WREN Research and Practice Support Specialists( REPSS). The PEEA meets regularly on-site with practice staff and clinicians to facilitate the implementation of research and QI projects.

By supporting some clinics as full-support clinics, WREN will have a pool of sites that are prepared to conduct ongoing research and quality improvement (QI) studies. To date, four clinics have signed on with WREN as full support clinics: Lake Tomah Clinic (Tomah), Medical Associates Clinic (Dubuque), Mile Bluff Clinic (Mauston), and Osceola Medical Center (Osceola).
