Getting Ready for the PA Class of 2009!
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Physician Assistant Program is pleased to announce the Campus Class of 2009 and Distance Class of 2010. After receipt of more than 410 applications, extensive review of 241 complete applications, and conducting 68 interviews, the PA Program extended an invitation to 28 campus students and 6 distance applicants. Classes will begin on May 29, 2007, with an orientation session and start-up of Gross Anatomy, which is taken collaboratively with the first year medical students.
Applying to the PA Program is a rigorous and highly competitive process. Applicants must be able to:
- Demonstrate strong evidence of the capacity to complete rigorous academic work.
- Demonstrate health care experience sufficient to develop a sound understanding of the PA profession, the health care environment and their fit for the PA profession.
- Provide references from individuals who know the candidate well and have the ability to evaluate the applicant's qualities as related to capability for success in the PA Program and profession.
Each of the newly admitted PA students has strongly demonstrated these qualities and has accepted the challenge to become an excellent PA by joining the UW-Madison PA Program. Congratulations are extended to these outstanding individuals in the Campus Class of 2009 and the Distance Class of 2010. Their hard work, strong determination and perseverance have gained them the opportunity to join the team, starting in the summer of 2007. We welcome them and look forward to their participation in our program and department!
