UW Health Eau Claire Increases Visibility
UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine wants to become known for more than just its visibility in the hospitals and nursing homes and as a teaching facility. The clinic has taken on a venture to promote itself as the community asset it has always been but had not openly marketed. Considering that our clinic has recently received a Star Clinic status in the Press Ganey Survey, it seems like a good springboard to leap into this venture.
With identification from the Department of Family Medicine administration as a site to work with the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation Marketing Department, the clinic surveyed the Chippewa Valley population utilizing the UW Eau Claire Marketing students headed by Dr. Fredrickson. Following the results of the survey, a marketing plan was developed in collaboration with the Eau Claire Family Medicine personnel and UWMF Clinic marketing professionals.
Through monthly articles in community magazines such as the Family Times and the Senior Review, the clinic has been advancing the public's awareness of our facility. In addition, for the past two years, the clinic has volunteered its physicians' services for the National Youth Sports Program to provide required physicals at our clinic for the participants.
UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine has always been mindful of the need for medical care within our community and although the Eau Claire area has grown considerably over the years, our clinic has been a familiar presence for our long-standing patients.
Some of our patients feel that this familiarity with our clinical staff and the faculty and their team approach is essential to their health needs. So, that became our message and aim, to present the faces of our clinic to the community. It was a message that our clinic decided to post throughout the area, on billboards and, yes, even on a city bus.
By publicizing our message, UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine hopes to attract those who value the medical care we are providing and to become more recognized for the care that we have always and continue to provide for the Eau Claire area.
